A Experienced Consultant specializing in supporting families with special needs,
assist with navigating with the first diagnosis to transitioning into post secondary and Day Habilitations.
I consult with families on next steps, connecting them outside entities such as Texas Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and Texas Work Force.
My specialty lies within my guidance on IEP/504 recommendations, analyzing Full Evaluations that have been conducted and thoroughly explaining what the results mean in terms of impact on your child's educational success.
It's important to note that I currently do not offer representation in ARD meetings,
my services are limited to consultations and recommendations Only.
ACRONYMS
WHAT DO ALL THESE MEAN?
There is an array of Acronyms here are a list of the most commonly used.
FIE or FIIE
Full Individual Evaluation or Full Initial Individual Evaluation- This contains all of the assessment scores and information they evaluators collected and reported. There are approximately 7 sections. 1. Language 2. Sociological 3.Physical & Health. 4. Emotional. 5. Cognitive. 6. Academic 7. Assistive Technology. Related Services will contain their findings and report within one of these sections. NOTE*** an outside private evaluation will differ from an Educational evaluation.
ARD or ARDC or ARDM.
Admissions, Review, Dismissal. The "C" stands for Committee and the "M" stands for members. This is the meeting you will attend to review the evaluation. It will occur annually. You as a parent can call an ARD meeting anytime you feel there is a concern that needs to be address which can not be handled outside of the ARD committee.
IEP
Individual Education Program (PLAN). You will hear people say both program and plan. It is the necessary and most important part of your child's specially designed plan. This has all of your child's present levels , goals, accommodations and schedule of service.
